I called in advance and was assured that the shop was fully capable of handling electronic issues on my granddaughter’s Subaru. A week after bringing the vehicle in I stopped and learned they did not have the software to diagnose. Very disappointing and poor communication.
Thank you Terry. As we usually do, we try our best to service everyone to the best of our abilities. Your vehicle had a security issue with the on board immobilization it is equipped with. To service that, we needed to obtain the immobilization codes from subaru. We did that. When typing that code into the subaru system, the car rejected it. That implied either module failure or the computer had been replaced at some point and the original codes are no longer accurate. As I talked to you, it was determined we would have to get very specific software from subaru to MAYBE get it to work. that would have been $3500. As you agreed, the car wasnt worth that to you. I advised you could take it to subaru and let them handle it as we didnt want to guess at replacing the module and hoping for the best. Sorry after all these years of servicing numerous vehicles, both vintage and modern and having great interactions that we let you down in this instance. Let alone after all that, this is the only review you have for us. We hope you continue to have a wonderful rest of your summer. Once again, apologies for letting you down.
